BHEL commissions 600 MW Western Mountain Gas Turbine Power Project in Libya, on turnkey basis
Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has achieved a major landmark in overseas markets with the commissioning of the 600 MW Western Mountain Gas Turbine Power Project in Libya, on turnkey basis. Significantly, this is the largest power plant set up by BHEL, overseas.
The project comprises 4 state-of-the-art 150 MW Gas Turbines, so far the highest rating Power Plant equipment to be exported from India.
The project has been commissioned by BHEL on turnkey basis for the General Electricity Company of Libya. In addition to the setting up of the project, BHEL is also imparting training to Libyan engineers on the design, operation and maintenance of gas-based power stations.
