BHEL holds Conclave of Liaison Officers & SC/ST Welfare Associations.

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) organised a conclave of Liaison Officers and President & General Secretary of SC/ST Welfare Associations of the company, here today.

Mr. Devender Vaddeti, Hon'ble Member, National Commission for SCs was the Chief Guest. In his keynote address, Mr. Vaddeti appreciated BHEL’s efforts for total compliance to the reservation policy and gave his valuable advice for further improvement.

Mr. Ashok K. Puri, Chairman & Managing Director, BHEL, highlighted the status of implementation of reservation policy in the company, which has seen a quantum jump in SC representation in total manpower, from 9.2% in 1970 when the reservation policy became applicable, to 18.71% at present. These efforts have been highly appreciated by the National Commission for SCs and the Parliamentary Committee on welfare of SCs & STs.

Mr. Puri assured the Commission about BHEL’s commitment towards the development of the SC/ST Community and also expressed his gratitude for their valuable guidance to the liaison officers in their efforts and support to the management.

About 70 representatives actively participated in the conclave and had fruitful discussions with the Hon'ble Member, National Commission for SCs. The conference concluded with the resolve to put in all efforts to continue total compliance with the Presidential Directives on reservation policy and other Govt. guidelines issued from time to time.
