BHEL contributes Rupees 30 Million to Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund.

Reaching out to the distressed victim families of earthquake in Jammu & Kashmir, Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) decided to contribute Rupees 30 Million to the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund.

The cheque was handed over to the Hon'ble Prime Minister by Mr. Sontosh Mohan Dev, Union Minister of State for Heavy Industries & Public Enterprises (Independent Charge).

BHEL has always played a lead role in relief and rehabilitation whenever such calamities confronted the citizens of our country. Whether it is Tsunami or floods in Assam, earthquake in Gujarat, cyclone in Orissa, drought in Rajasthan or the Kargil war, BHEL as a part of its corporate social responsibility, has always stood by the suffering families.

Going beyond relief, BHEL has also adopted 68 villages in various parts of the country and engaged itself in welfare of 80,000 inhabitants of these villages. Thus empowerment of the poor through rural development has been a focus agenda of BHEL.
