BHEL once again bags EPC contract for 350 MW Combined Cycle Power Plant through International Competitive Bidding
In the face of stiff competition, Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited BHEL has bagged an order for setting up a Combined Cycle Power Plant in Gujarat on Engineering Procurement and Construction EPC basis, involving supply and commissioning of an Advanced class Frame 9FA Gas Turbine.
Valued at Rs.10,750 Million, Gujarat State Energy Generation Limited GSEG has placed the order for a 350 MW Gas Turbine based Combined Cycle Power Plant CCPP to be installed at Hazira in Gujarat.
The project is slated for completion in a tight schedule of 27 months by BHEL.
The company had recently won a similar EPC contract from Reliance Industries Limited RIL for a 345 MW Gas Turbine based Combined Cycle Power Plant to be installed at Nagothane in district Raigad of Maharashtra.
BHELs scope of work in the present project envisages design, engineering, manufacture, supply, erection and commissioning of one Frame 9FA Gas Turbine Generator set, one Steam Turbine Generator set and one Heat Recovery Steam Generator with state of the art Controls and Instrumentation C and I, associated auxiliaries and balance of plant, in addition to complete civil works and select spares.
While the Gas Turbine will be manufactured at BHELs Hyderabad plant, the HRSG and state of the art control system will be manufactured at the companys Trichy plant and Electronics Division, Bangalore, respectively.
BHEL has emerged as the market leader in cogeneration and captive power plants, offering units from 10 MW onwards for both steam turbine based and gas based combined cycle power projects for total power and process steam requirements of various industries.
So far, the company has supplied and commissioned more than 700 Steam Turbine and Gas Turbine based plants for a host of industries like metal, paper, sugar, cement and process industries like refineries, petrochemicals, fertiliser etc., in India and abroad.
