BHEL wins Rs.10,230 Million Turbine Generator Package Order
In the face of stiff International Competitive Bidding (ICB), Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has bagged a prestigious order for the supply of Turbine Generator (TG) Package for 2x500 MW TPS at Neyveli.
Valued at Rs.10,230 Million, the order has been secured by BHEL from Neyveli Lignite Corporation Limited (NLC), for their upcoming 1,000 MW Neyveli New Thermal Power Project (NNTPP) at Neyveli, Tamil Nadu.
BHEL’s scope of works includes manufacture, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of Steam Turbine Generators & Auxiliaries along with associated civil works.
Notably, BHEL has already bagged the order for supply and installation of the Steam Generator (SG) package for the same project, which was also won against ICB. Significantly, the Steam Generators to be supplied for the contract will be the highest rating Pulverised Lignite fired Steam-Generators in the country.
BHEL has earlier secured orders from NLC for their 2x500 MW Tuticorin, 2x250 MW Neyveli and 2x125 MW Barsingsar projects, all on ICB basis. With this order, the customer has again reposed faith & confidence in BHEL’s technological excellence and also its capability to execute power projects of this kind & magnitude.
More than 100 numbers of 490-600 MW rating thermal sets have been contracted by BHEL in the country so far. This order reinforces BHEL's leadership status in the execution of thermal power projects involving supply of state-of-art equipment, suited to Indian coal, Lignite and Indian conditions.
