BHEL’s Customer Focus pays Handsome Bonus

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has received a Bonus of 6.5% of the order value on commissioning of a 18.5 MW Steam Turbine Generator (STG) set at Pudukottai Sugar Plant of EID Parry (India) Limited. The plant was commissioned before the end of the financial year to enable the customer to become eligible for depreciation and tax benefits.

In its communication, the customer has conveyed its deep appreciation for the dedicated efforts made by BHEL engineers for achieving this milestone. This is the first time, when BHEL has received such a major bonus for commissioning its equipment in a challenging schedule, resulting in substantial financial benefits to the customer.

BHEL has emerged as the market leader in captive power plants, offering units from 10 MW and above for both steam and gas turbine-based power projects for meeting power and steam requirements of various industries. So far, the company has supplied more than 700 steam and gas turbines for a host of industries like refineries, petrochemicals, aluminium, steel, cement, sugar, textiles, etc.

Notably, with the award of the contract for a 99 MW captive power plant for Bharat Oman Refinery Limited (BORL) recently, BHEL has become one of the only three companies in the world capable of engineering 100% pet coke fired CFBC Boilers.
