Sh. Praful Patel, dedicates BHEL's state-of-the-art Electrical Machines manufacturing facility to the Nation

New Delhi, April 18: As part of its holistic manufacturing capacity expansion and modernisation programme, Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has set up a new state-of-the-art Electrical Machines Shop at its Heavy Electrical Plant at Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh. The new facility has been set up in view of the immense market potential for electric motors.

 

The unit was dedicated to the nation by Sh. Praful Patel, Hon’ble Union Minister for Heavy Industries & Public Enterprises in the presence of Sh. B.P. Rao, CMD, BHEL. Directors on the Board of BHEL and other senior officials of the company were also present on the occasion.

 

On the occasion, Sh. Praful Patel congratulated the entire workforce of BHEL for its excellent performance on all parameters besides record financial results in fiscal 2010-11. Addressing the BHEL employees, he said that the time is not too far when BHEL will be feted with the Maharatna status due to commitment and dedication of its employees.

 

‘In the coming years, I want to see BHEL which is larger in magnitude, innovative, renowned in all business sectors, known for its engineering excellence and well established as a world class engineering enterprise’, he said. He said that there is no doubt that BHEL is a shining star in the industrial arena which has made commendable contribution in the growth of our country.

 

He urged the employees to put all efforts and take this company to further new heights. Alluding to international competition he said that there is no need to be scared as long as the product quality is good and all delivery commitments are met.

 

BHEL has been committed to the nation’s power development programme and has reaffirmed its commitment to the Indian Power Sector by equipping itself for the future, by way of technology, facilities and trained manpower to meet the country’s power forecast for the 11th Plan and beyond. For this, it has already enhanced its manufacturing capacity to 15,000 MW per annum and is further augmenting it to 20,000 MW per annum by March, 2012.
