Shri Arun Gupta assumed charge as the Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) of Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) with effect from 21.08.2026.

Shri Arun Gupta is an officer of the 2001 batch of the Indian Telecom Service (ITS) and holds Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics & Telecommunications Engineering from SGSITS Indore and Master’s Degree in Microelectronics & VLSI Design from IIT (BHU). He has also completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Public Policy & Management (PGD-PPM) from MDI, Gurgaon.

Shri Arun Gupta has diverse experience across various domains of governance, with extensive exposure to policy formulation, implementation, monitoring and administration of government schemes and projects. During his career, he has been closely associated with initiatives aimed at strengthening telecom connectivity and promoting universally accessible, secure and affordable telecommunications/ICT services in rural and remote areas of the country.

His professional experience includes handling telecommunications licensing, enforcement and monitoring, as well as schemes and projects focused on bridging the digital divide, enhancing digital literacy and ensuring equitable access to telecommunications/ICTs. These initiatives have contributed towards digital inclusion, socio-economic development, entrepreneurship and the empowerment of citizens.

Shri Arun Gupta has also served on Central Deputation in the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, where he was responsible for the administration of various institutions under the Ministry, implementation of schemes & projects, financial matters, international cultural relations, and bilateral & multilateral agreements/MoUs.

With his varied experience in governance, policy, administration and technology, Shri Arun Gupta brings a broad-based perspective to his new role as Chief Vigilance Officer of BHEL.
